Rasa Sammy, LAC, is a Nationally Certified and California State licensed acupuncturist who has been practicing acupuncture and massage since 1998. She received her training at Five Branches Institute (College for Traditional Oriental Medicine), California State Tutorial Program for Acupuncture and the American School of Botanical Medicine. Prior to joining Institute for Restorative Health, Rasa practiced acupuncture in integrative medical clinics with family physicians, orthopedic surgeons and physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors. Rasa served as acupuncturist for the UC Irvine Graduate Student Wellness Clinic faculty as well as course director at the UC Irvine College of Medicine' s Introduction to Oriental Medicine Program, teaching acupuncture to medical students and physicians. Her areas of specialization include the treatment of chronic pain and musculoskeletal injuries, including, but not limited to back, neck, knee and shoulder problems. Additional areas of specialization include women’s health with an emphasis on fertility issues, headaches, digestive problems, asthma and allergies. Rasa also utilizes massage therapy including Tuina (Chinese medical massage), Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Acupressure and Reiki, herbal medicine and nutrition in her clinical practice. Rasa is the mother of a beautiful, creative, happy little girl. Her personal interests include yoga, meditation, hiking, back packing, dancing, reading and gardening.
