wellatworkAs a successful businesses ourself, we understand the need for healthy, effective employees.  We all want employees who have more energy, who pay attention, who we can count on, who are able to adapt and care about their work.  Research shows happy employees work harder and employees who are healthy and feel valued by their employer in turn invest in their company, essentially providing better results.

The truth of the matter is that it costs less to keep an employee than obtain a new one.  It costs less to tackle potential health problems before they become serious issues.  It costs less to teach skills to keep an employee healthy than paying for sick days.  Why wait for an employee to miss work before investing in their health?  When an employee is sick or disabled, work gets delayed, revenue is lost, and others in the office become responsible to minimize these losses, all affecting efficiency and stress in the office.

At the Institute for Restorative Heath, we have found that optimal health is best achieved when an individual is empowered with the education to proactively participate in the process.  Since its conception in 2006, IRH has helped thousands of patients achieve better health by providing them with the skills and tools necessary to achieve the wellness they desire. It then made sense that if these steps to wellness could begin at the workplace, the rewards of health could then transfer directly to the workplace.  It was for this very reason we created Wellness at Work.

Wellness at Work will energize your employees, reduce their stress and encourage them to become an active participant in their wellness, resulting in healthier, more reliable employees.  By making an investment in your employees, you too will reap the rewards of their health.

Similar to other programs offered at IRH, Wellness at Work is patient centered and can be tailored to fit the unique needs of your employees. For more information about Wellness at Work, please call (530) 758-4474.

Overview

chiroChiropractic is a holistic approach to overall health that allows the body to heal itself of illness, injury, as well as environmental and emotional stress.

Chiropractic works by affecting corrections of the nervous system (NS). The NS is composed of three components:

  • Central Nervous System-brain and spine
  • Peripheral Nervous System-connects the central NS to the rest of the body
  • Autonomic Nervous System-controls functions we don't consciously control

The nervous system can be greatly and positively affected by physically, chemically, thermally or emotionally altering the vertebra of the spinal column and the surrounding musculature of the musculoskeletal system.

Nerves attached to various organs and tissues exit from the spinal cord at varying points along the vertebral column. If there are impingements or stresses in the spinal column and/or connecting muscles, nerve function is impeded and corresponding organs and tissues are adversely affected. Chiropractors treat these vertebral and muscular impingements by manipulating/altering the structure. Once these impingements are removed, the body's inherent ability to heal itself is re-enabled.

Although the basic focus of chiropractic care is to treat impingements (subluxations) upon the nerves, many chiropractors integrate other areas of therapy to help promote and maintain the results of their chiropractic adjustments.

Who Benefits?

Chiropractic care is appropriate for people of all ages and of all levels of health, from infant to geriatric ages. People suffering from back and/or neck pain, or who are experiencing high levels of physical and/or emotional stress in their lives are prime candidates.

Overviewaccupuncture

Acupuncture was developed in China over 5000 ago. It is an entire system of health and healing based on the concept that energy or the vital life force (Qi or chi) flows throughout the body through twelve major energy pathways or meridians. Each pathway courses through specific organs and tissues and is named accordingly.

The philosophy of acupuncture is based on the concept that disease emanates from excessive or inadequate energy flow through a meridian, causing disease and/or dysfunction of organs and tissues along that meridian.

Treatment Overview

Treatment involves inserting thin acupuncture needles into particular points along a meridian, thereby normalizing the energy flow to the diseased or dysfunctional organs/tissues along that meridian and healing the problem areas.
Pre-treatment diagnosis includes checking the tongue and face, the pulse in the radial or wrist area, and taking a thorough history of the patient's illness. This determines where acupuncture needles will be placed.

Conditions Successfully Treated with Acupuncture:

Headaches
Inflammation
Various Ulcers
Most Gastrointestinal Problems
Tinnitus
Muscle Spasms
Osteoarthritis
Illnesses associated with environmental toxins
Chronic Pain (many types)
